Trucker Duke, Today, and Tom - Street Art and Signs

Street art in memory of Trucker Duke, a 3 year old boy who had Stage IV cancer. The son of a Maui firefighter, Trucker's cause was well-known on Maui, and he had many families and friends. This is a current mural at the Hookipa pillbox. Photo was taken

"More today than yesterday." More what? More love? More heart? I really like this piece of street art, and it's open to interpretation. What do you have more today than yesterday? Photo taken 2/28/17 at the Hookipa pillbox. The background of the photo is a design that Parker Detchon painted. If you visit the F post in this series, you'll see some of Parker's street art.

TOM RIP. Whoever you were Tom, someone cared enough to paint this sign on Kuau Market after it closed up and was abandoned. Photo taken 7/12/13. I think it's now called Kuau Store, after it was taken over by new owners and made into a chic boutique grocery store and deli on the Road to Hana. By the way, this store is up the road from the Hookipa pillbox and visible from the one and only highway along the north shore of Maui.
