Public Mermaid Art

I've just finished reading Sue Monk Kidd's The Mermaid Chair and maybe mermaids have been on my mind.

Recently, I saw this mermaid mural on the Ho'okipa pillbox (oceanside, just "east" of Ho'okipa lookout), on cattle grazing land. This pillbox seems to get a fairly new paint job every few weeks.
